so, the event was the 'strawberry festival' and the 'races' at the fairgrounds.
i was not particularly thrilled with my experience.
after about an hour, i was totally done and ready to go home...
which i did.
my friend stayed for at least two hours after i left.
maybe if i'd had a bigger memory card i'd've stayed but i doubt it.
i'd rather be at home most of the time.
i like my alone time.
there were some, shall we say... interesting people there, tho.
like... what is up with people, man?
i just. don't. get. some people.
maybe all people.
it is also very much overwhelming when i go to places with crowds because it is hard for me to close out any of the stimulus surrounding me and i get overloaded.
it's like i notice too much and don't know how to shut them out.
i sort of feel invaded just by the presence of other people.
and something else i could mention is that i prefer to hang by myself and pretty much only hang out with people who pursue hanging out with me because otherwise, i would rarely if ever pursue spending my time 'socializing' if you know what i mean.
for instance, most of the time, i have zero interest in anything that anyone has to verbalize in my presence.
y'know?
prolly not.
but anyway, MAN is buzznet slower than molasses or is it just this computer?
ten minutes to upload ten pictures. give me a break.
i also don't have time to look at blogs which take a year to load.
nor do i have time, apparently, to fix the bad link to beth's blog on my sidebar.
i suck.
no, i don't have time.
sorry.
also, why is it that a half hour lunch goes by SO FAST but a half hour at work feels like three hours?
is it time travel?
i should not eat nachos with chili. i think i've had it three times in the past week or so.
i must be pms-ing. i make poor food choices when that happens.

it's only just begun
last night my mp3 player froze up and i was trying to brace myself to accept the reality of that and then i decided as a last resort after trying to figure out what the problem was to let it just sit there overnight and then try it again in the morning and THAT WORKED! everything is fine again. it would've been okay if it hadn't worked but it's better that it does.
that is something good to eat.
healthful.
cheap.

good or bad
my friend bought me a couch today! a sectional.
i was gonna buy it, but he did, instead. i offered to go in half.
great. there will be strings attached, now, won't there?
i'd better pay him back.
it was $40 at a thrift store.
i've been using a very cheap and uncomfortable futon so this should be better.
now, i don't think i'll have room anywhere for the futon.
he called me up and told me about it and i said it sounded good so i went to take a look at it. it's gonna be delivered. that alone is worth the $40.
sigh.
i probably shouldn't be telling you any of this.
i'm sure you'll find some way to turn it against me.

bibliophile, i am a
the library won't let me upload my mp3 player.... so that narrows my options.
none of my other options are particularly convenient, but that is okay.
it'll happen.
above is the fancy restaurant where i ordered the following meal which really wasn't all that great but that didn't stop me from eating every last bite of it in one sitting. hey, i was starving!
the shrimp were just NOT good.
i mean, they were edible but tasted like they'd been frozen, got freezerburn and then were cooked in the microwave? but not even that good. i've had better shrimp from frozen dinners i got from grocery outlet, man.
oh well, at least i don't feel that ripped off cuz i am not the one who paid for it. my friend 'took me out' for dinner. we got takeaway and watched Jumper. it was entertaining in a pretty much mindless sort of way. the black man with the white hair, Roland dude...? his hair looked totally ridiculous like he stuck a wet washcloth on his head and cut it to look like a wig.
but i got all of these books from the library discarded book bin and that is COOL!
man i love books. i have an addiction. it's probably OCD. whatever. i just have trouble stopping myself from taking some every day.
i really need to even out this 'tanline' thing i have going on.
i was just messing around with this skirt and tried it as a dress... but i won't wear it like that. it looks strange. much cuter as a skirt with a black tank. or a t-shirt or somethin'.

10 things i like about my job
1. people bring in dogs that can just roam freely through the halls and they bring puppies and it is just cool.
2. co-workers who sing randomly as they are walking through the halls.
3. off by 2:30 each day i work.
4. can watch t.v. while working
5. lotsa opps for service to humanity.
6. makes me think and learn about life.
7. interacting with the residents is fun, rewarding.
8. eavesdropping on everything that happens (drama).
9. work 4 days a week.
10. pretty laid back work environment (feels like home in some way).
i uploaded some songs to my mp3 player. looking forward to doing that some more today after work. weee!
p.s. blogging is very time consuming! it took me a half hour to do everything it took to make this post! sheesh. not counting the offline prep time (taking notes, taking pics). it's a good thing i enjoy this cuz it does not PAY in more ways than one.
